WHO:

ISAT Week

Good luck to all Parkview students and teachers this week during ISAT testing.  You have worked hard.  Stay focused through the week and you will do great!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Next week mark's the second semester of Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Last semester we took appointments for these. However, for the second semester we will NOT be taking appointments.  It will be based on a first come basis.  Since we will not be taking appointments, we ask for patience while waiting to speak to a teacher.  We offer conferences next Thursday, February 14th, from 4:30 - 8 pm and Friday, February 15th, from 8 - 11 am.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  As we usher in 2013, I want to welcome everyone back for the second semester.  Don't forget, school starts this FRIDAY!  The faculty and staff has used this break to recharge their batteries and are preparing for classes.  Mr. Stewart has worked hard over the break to repair and clean laptops for the students.  And our custodial staff has spent the break waxing the floors and make everything look as new as possible.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everone!  As we welcome in 2013 I want to remind everyone that school will resume this Friday.  The faculty and staff here at Parkview have used this time to recharge their batteries and are preparing for a great second semester.  Brandon Stewart has worked hard on cleaning and repairing the students computers over the break, even though the snow played havoc on getting to the school.  Our custodial staff has spent the break waxing the halls and making everything look as new as possible.

Homecoming, Parent-Teacher Conferences, School Improvement Day

We have had a lot of participation at Parkview this week for homecoming dress up days.  Monday was Skittles Day, Tuesday was Mr. Brush Day, Wednesday was Career Day, Thursday was Braves Day, and tomorrow is Crazy Red and White Day.  Don't forget the Homecoming football game is Saturday vs. Olney.  Freshman game is at noon followed by the varsity game at 2pm.  Tours are available for the last year at old LHS starting tomorrow evening and conclude Saturday morning.  Don't forget all schools will dismiss tomorrow one hour early.

Mid-Term Week

The school year is moving by so fast that we are already at Mid-Term week.  I encourage each and every parent whose student my receive a discouraging mid-term report to speak to the teacher about the reason.  Too many times we are quick to judgement.  Please communicate and ask questions about what may be going on in the classroom.  I am proud to say that in these four weeks I have been in each classroom multiple times and have seen numerous great things.

Computer Bags Are In!

This past week our computer bags finally arrived.  The 7th and 8th graders are finally taking the computers home.  A big thank you goes to People's State Bank for purchasing the bags so that our students may take the computers home to be able to continue working on school assignments.

School Year Underway

We have officially completed our first week of the 2012-2013 school year.  Our students received their laptop computers this week and have been learning the in's and out's of them.  Baseball and softball have officially gotten underway and are off to successful seasons.  I want to encourage all parents to use our Teacher Ease program to keep up to date on their students grade.  If their are questions, please contact the teacher via email or call the school. Remember, we will dismiss 2 hours early this Friday (August 31) and will not be in session on Monday September, 3 for Labor Day.

Welcome/Summer Progress

As new principal here at Parkview Junior High School I would like to introduce myself.  I have worked for the CUSD #20 district for 7 years, all at the high school.  I spent the first five years teaching Civics and US History while coaching football, basketball, baseball, and tennis.  The past two years I served as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at LHS.
