The Unit #20 Board of Education is pleased to announce that Andrea Youngs has been selected as the next principal of Parkview Junior High School, and will be joining the District beginning July 1, 2023. Mrs. Youngs is a Lawrenceville High School alumni, as well as a Lawrenceville native where she currently resides.

Mrs. Youngs has been serving as a special education teacher for Red Hill CUSD #10 at the Sumner Attendance Center for the past thirteen years. Following graduation from LHS, Mrs. Youngs attended Eastern Illinois University earning her special education teaching certificate in 2010.  In 2019, Mrs. Youngs completed her Master’s degree in School Administration from EIU.  During her time as a special education teacher, she served in various positions throughout the CUSD #10 District. During the hiring process, Youngs expressed a strong desire to return to the Unit #20 community.  “I am honored to join the Parkview staff. I look forward to coming home, learning about all the wonderful work Parkview is doing, and meeting the incredible students, staff, and community that make this such a special place.”

“As a district, we always want to ensure that we find the right person for each position we fill, who will bring their expertise, skills, and professionalism to the role, while embracing the values of our district,” shared Superintendent Doug Daugherty. Assistant Superintendent Brittany Boldt shared, “It is always exciting to be able to bring a strong educator and passionate individual such as Mrs. Youngs to our district, knowing the enthusiasm and commitment she will display to the students, staff, and families of this community. We are honored to welcome her home.” 

CUSD #20 Board President TJ Pargin commented, “The Board of Education is excited to welcome Mrs. Youngs to Unit #20. She is professional, dedicated and hard working. Her passion and desire to assist and serve others is truly a gift and asset to our school and the entire district. We are beyond proud and excited for Andrea to begin the next chapter in her professional career as the new principal at Parkview Junior High School. Parkview is getting someone truly special who will do great things for our school and community.”
